Kimberly Crossman – Mental Health Counsellor
Finding the right counsellor can feel intimidating. Not only are you looking for a professional you can trust, but also an environment where you feel safe, heard, and validated. As a client-centered counsellor, I am devoted to developing a strong therapeutic relationship within a nonjudgmental environment. Together, we can address a wide variety of concerns ranging from stress management, negative thinking traps, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, grief, attachment, conflict management, life skills, self-esteem, and mental health concerns.
I apply an integrated approach to treatment by utilizing a biopsychosocial approach to healing. I will collaborate with you to examine the impact your biology (pathology), psychological (thoughts, coping mechanisms, fears), social (socioeconomic status, vocational life, family life), and culture/spirituality has on your unique mental health concerns.
I utilize skills found in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, such as stress inoculation, mindfulness, and managing negative thinking traps. Whether you require a more directive or flexible approach, let us work together and explore how to best meet your treatment goals.
